Travis stayed in bed and the kids stayed with him. It was nice to be “free” for awhile. I had to be back by 10am though for Travis to leave for class. We hit 4 sales and oh my goodness did I hit the motherload! Only 1 of the sales was a bust. Brian got 2 really nice lazy boy type rocker/recliners for $50. I was mad because I wanted them, but he saw them first.
I needed clothes for Trevor. He’s still in 12 month clothes but his pants are way too short and his shirts are getting a little snug. I only had a very little bit of clothes from a freecycle member. Jayden also needed more clothes. We really only had a handful of girly stuff, and a bunch of unisex stuff from Trevor. But I ~REALLY~ want to dress her in girly clothes. So I went a little crazy! Trevor is now set with all he needs for 18 month size and I added quite a bit to the 2t, 3t, and 4t collection. Jayden has way more clothes than she really needs until 9 months.
By the time everything was washed I had done about 7 loads of laundry just for yardsale finds! I spent way more than I had intended (a little shy of $200) but considering that 1 of those things was a winter coat for Trevor, brand new with tags! It was a London Fog coat with a price tag of $70! Plus a ton of the clothes were Old Navy, Tommy, Gap, etc. Sooooo I figure that my spending was well justified. I can’t imagine how people can afford to clothe their children in only brand new, name brand stuff! That coat plus a few of the name brand outfits brand new would have been $200 easy! There were only a few things that I paid more than $1-2 for. And I’ll probably earn back my $ when I sell it on eBay.

SCORE!
Something I'm going to try: it's a lot more work to list stuff on eBay-so I'm going to try consigning. We have a couple of higher end stores where you can get 60% of the sale price if you take store credit--so I'll be coming out ahead.
I got the idea from parenthacks.com, but I can't believe I didn't think of it myself!
