3 Years Old!

I can't believe my firstborn is 3 years old!  He's doing amazing in preschool.  He can count to 14 at least.  At preschool they practice counting to 30!   And to 10 in spanish.  He knows his colors fairly well though sometimes makes mistakes.

He amazed me the other day in naming shapes.  He pointed at a stop sign and pointed at a sign and said "octagon"  I was showing off his skills to my mom and pulled out a book the had a picture of a stop sign in it and asked him where the octagon was.  He said "where go octagon?"  Turns out the stop sign in the book was a hexagon.  So there wasn't an octagon on the page.  He surprised me even more when he pointed out squares, rectangles, triangles, circles, ovals, and diamonds.  But I about fell out of my chair when he pointed out a crescent!

So here's some pictures of Trevor's party.  We had a great time and he loves Thomas so that's the theme we went with.

Hooray for Trevor!

Trevor went potty in his potty chair! Twice in 2 days. But then nada. At least he will sit on it now and not run away screaming because he's scared of it. So at least we're on the right track!

First Art Project from Daycare

Though Trevor colors a lot we haven't done any "art projects." He got to do his first at daycare. Bad mommy! He was really proud of his pumpkin he finger painted.

My baby is 2!

I can't believe how quickly his baby days have passed by. Yet somehow, I can't seem to remember what life was like before him. Funny how that happens. Trevors birthday was on Friday and we gave him a present late in the evening and sang happy birthday. We're horrible parents. Somehow I didn't realize it was the 24th and since we were having his party on Sunday I kind of forgot it was his birthday. Bad mommy! The picture to the left is his present he got at about 10pm on his actual birthday.

We had his birthday party today and he had alot of fun. It was a pretty small affair. It was pretty much thrown together at the last minute and since I had to work that day we didn't have time to do a whole lot. We had balloons, streamers, cake, and of course lots of presents! We got him a bunch of books, a Remote control car, a interactive dvd/book/remote thing, and a little toy car.
Grandma H got him a cloth Noah's ark with cloth animals, a bulldozer that opens into a book, and a shape sorter/pull toy in the fashion of a VW beetle (leap frog I think.) Grandpa G got him a Trike which he really seemed to enjoy. Hopefully the weather cools down so we can use it outside without having a heat stroke. He also got him a wooden toy that has the round pegs that you hit with a hammer. He figured that one out right away. Grandma B got him the up and down roller coaster. He loves it and even went down backwards a few times. I only wish that our house was bigger so we could keep it set up. But it's way to big to stay in the toy room. Gretchen and Tony got him a gift card. He also got a card in the mail from his Great Grandma in California. Soon we'll take him to Target and Toys r Us so he can pick out his own toy. So here's a sampling of the pictures from his party.

Trevor's 2 Year Checkup

Here's his stats:
Wt:25lb 11 3/4oz 25%
Ht: 33 1/2 25%
Head:49.7cm 75%

I had to take him by myself. And wow what a challenge. It wasn't all that bad until we got done with our appointment and they said that we needed to have blood drawn to test for lead. What a disaster! We had already been there for about an hour and a half and he was getting cranky.

We waited forever! He terrorized the lobby while I chased him around trying to keep an eye on Jayden who was starting to fuss in the stroller. I got countless "looks" from others in the lobby. To which I sarcastically replied, "How happy you would be if you had been waiting here for 2 and a half hours!" Seriously I was annoyed. It wasn't like I was just letting him run wild. I tried books, cars, fruit snacks, cheerios, even letting him hold my cell phone which he threw.

Finally we were called back and he was in a full blown fit by that time. I had to hold him down while they poked him. He was screaming, I was crying, and by this point Jayden was really fussing. I don't know what I would have done if she was really crying hard. The nurse wasn't having much luck collecting enough blood because he was squirming so much so she had to call for backup. By this time there was blood all over. It was on the floor, his clothes, my clothes, and the nurses lab coat. Serves their butts right for making me wait so long.

So finally it's time to leave and I look outside and it's torrential downpour! Perfect! I guess the benefit of that was Trevor stopped screaming and thought it was fun. By the time I got both kids and the stroller loaded I was beyond soaked and my jeans probably weighed 20 pounds.
Here's a picture of Trevor and I once we got home.

Bye bye binkie

Two days ago was Trevor's last day with a binkie. There was a bit of mild protest but now he doesn't even miss it. Binkies are now for Jayden. If he finds one laying around he brings it to her and sticks it in her mouth, even if she tries to spit it out. He will try over and over until Jayden finally gives in and takes the binkie.

"ohhh no"

Trevor has finally learned the word no. Usually combined with a shake of the head. His no actually sounds a little more like new. He also says "oh neeeew"

Other words he's learned in the last week are "fo" for phone, "down," "fru" is fruit, food, or telling us he wants to eat. He also says "pe-u" (stinky) and "ahhhh key" (ackey.) His sister is "day-den" said in a sing song voice.

Trevor talk

Somehow between when Jayden came home from the hospital and today Trevor has had a language explosion. The funniest thing is that he picked up a handful of food words/expressions when he was sick and not eating. So here is a run down of the vocabulary he has picked up in the last 2 weeks.

~ “oooohh was zat!?!?!” with much emphasis to ask about something that catches his interest. When he was supposed to be napping yesterday he said this about 30 times. I had a bunch of clothes lying on the floor in his room so I think that was what he was talking about, though I’m not exactly sure.
~ “more” with hand outstretched. Indicating that he wants what you are eating, not necessarily more of what he already has.
~ “all gone” with both hands out, palms up
~all of the above can be combined for effectiveness. Ie: I’m eating a granola bar and he says “oooohh was zat?!?!” So I tell him, “granola bar” and he says “more?” So I give him 1 for each hand because he has to have 2 pieces or he gets mad, yet he promptly says “more” I say, “you need to finish what you have” he crams the rest into his mouth and says “more” with more emphasis
~”otay” said to Jayden when crying to tell her “it’s ok”
~ “yet’s go” with much excitement, when we go “bye, bye”
~ “ooooohh see coot” Referring to Jayden and that she is cute. We got this one pretty much for the first few days home from the hospital, but not so much lately
~ “bay” as in baby, usually said when I’m looking at baby/small child pictures on the computer
~ Also fruit, go, hi, ow

I’m sure there are more but that’s all I can think of for now.

Trevor speak

I still have some back posts to do but jeez I'm so tired all the time! I still have to post Christmas stuff... lol! So come back soon and scroll down. Trevor is saying some really cute stuff these days though I thought I'd jump on and jot it all down!

Trevor chatters all day, mainly lots and lots of jibberish. It's so funny it cracks me up. Sometime when he's talking to me he gets real close to my face or puts his hand on my cheek and talks soooo seriously. I want to know so badly what he's saying. The other thing that he does all the time is talk on the "phone." Anything can be a phone for him, his hand, a block, the remote whatever. Tonight during dinner it was his spoon! He'll hold it up to his ear and chatter away. It was so funny, the other night he was "yelling" at someone on the phone. He was really chewing someone's behind good! Bad mommy... he learned that from me. Earlier in the day I was talking to my mom about my insanely crappy day at work and I have a tendancy to get pretty animated when I'm talking about stuff that irritates me. I wanted to get it on video but by the time I got to the camera he stopped.

Trevor still doesn't have too many words. I would say maybe about 10 or so. There are some people in this email group that I belong to with toddlers the same age as Trevor and some of them say 75 words. Trevor I would say is more focused on developing his motor skills. More on that later. Maybe next post.

Mainly he says mama, dada, bye bye really clearly. Some other things that he says that are a little harder to distinguish are: "see it?" when he wants something lately we hear that about a hundred times a day. "Zat?!?!?!" for what's that, used in replace of or in conjunction to "see it?" Or he'll say "Zis" as in what's this. He's just learning to climb up on the couch the last few days and when he does he says "Yeah, did it!" in a voice that shows how proud he is of himself. He also climbs in his toy box, closes the lid and pops his head out and says "there he is!" Everytime I or DH come home as soon as we walk in the door we get a jubilant long drawn out "hi!!!"

And then he has a naughty word he says from time to time. Though he doesn't say it as much as he used to a month or 2 ago. He says "sh$t" I'm hoping that since he hasn't said it as much that is due to us doing a better job not saying it. I catch myself from time to time though :o( And man did it come out clear as day too. Kinda embarassing.

Yucko…

Pretty much sums up how I’ve been feeling the last few weeks. My “all day” sickness has not let up in the slightest. Actually it has probably gotten worse. I’ve lost 2 pounds in the last 2 weeks. The worst part is that I’m hungry ALL the time, yet I can’t make myself eat. I have tried nearly everything to tempt my tummy to no avail. Everything I eat turns my stomach. And it is all day long. So I put in a call to my midwife and she called in an RX for Promethazine.

I’ve been taking this med for about 4 days now and today I feel a little better at last. I was able to eat at least a decent lunch and dinner. And no getting sick today. :o) So that’s a start. I’m not holding my breath though. The biggest drawback is that it makes me incredibly tired. The first day I took it was luckily my day off. I slept pretty much off and on all day. I barely even had enough energy to sit at the computer long enough to check my email. And the last 3 days have only been slightly better. So hopefully the tiredness goes away soon and so does my morning sickness. If this doesn’t work she’s got a few other things to try. I just don’t think I can handle another week of being this tired and having to chase after a busy 1year old.

I’ve pretty much come to the conclusion that there will be no more babies. Well, at least until Trav is out of school, with a good paying job, and the ability for me to at least cut back to part time hours (if not stay home.) This is just way too much for me to handle. I’m really scared to see what it’s going to be like when I’m 8 months pregnant.

Trevor’s having a bit of a rough week, he’s got bronchitis and a mild ear infection. He coughs a lot at night and constantly sliming me with his yucky nose. Ahhhh the joys of motherhood! He seems to be getting better though. Oh my poor little cranky boy.

Earlier this week (Wednesday I think) we went out and played in the leaves on the deck. He had never done this before and wasn’t too sure at first about the crinkly stuff under his feet. Trav piled them all up around him and threw them up in the air and then he thought that was quite fun. I took a ton of pictures of course but none that I’m completely thrilled with. He was so distracted by the leaves he wouldn’t look at the camera for the most part. And when I was trying to get him concentrating on a leaf he would come running towards me. After awhile he thought we should clean up the deck or something because he started bring me leaves one by one. He also was tossing them between the railings and stuffing them between the deck boards.

Let’s see what else has he done this week? He has just started trying to walk backwards and sideways, he thinks that’s pretty funny. I’m pretty sure he is now saying “Love you” although it sounds more like “uuubbb ewwww” in a cute little sing song voice. I tell him “love you” countless times throughout the day and even if I’m in the other room I’ll holler “love you Trevor” and it seems that is the tone that he is mimicking. And he usually does it when I’m in the other room and smiles when he knows he’s gained my attention.

He has just started trying to dance although it isn’t too coordinated just yet. He mainly just bends his knees and bobs up and down. He also sings when the radio is on, it sounds like he’s yelling though. :o)

That’s about all I can think of for tonight. I’m pretty much brain dead! Anywho… I’m off to bed

Long overdue

Ok so now that I’ve got all of the blog stuff moved over I suppose it’s time for me to take a few minutes and give an update on the happenings in our household.

Not really much has been going on lately. Trevor’s birthday party was a lot of fun. He really seemed to enjoy himself. Well except that he got a little cranky and I laid him down for a little nap in the middle of all the happenings. I new there was no way he was going to make it through the whole thing, especially since he didn’t get a nap before the party started. And he got a little cranky when I put his party hat on and snapped him with the elastic. Bad Mommy!!! I felt awful. Well actually he snapped himself with the elastic when he was tugging at it but I was right there and should have seen it coming. It left a pretty nasty red mark under his chin. :o(

We got him his own little cake to tear into. Yeah, I'm one of ~those~ moms who let their baby eat all the cake they wanted. :o) I was worried that it would make him sick or that it would make him only want to eat sugary stuff from now on. So far so good. :o) He didn't get a tummy ache and oh my gosh did he eat alot of cake!!! It made my tummy ache watching him. I just couldn't bear to take it away, he was having so much fun. My best friend demonstrated putting a plate on her head and he followed her lead with the cake platter. Man, icing is not fun to wash out of hair. I think I shampoo'd his hair 3 times and it was still greasy 2 baths later.

He enjoyed teaching his Uncle Jim how to play the game of pickup. :o) I think Trevor won. Though Jim was a good sport and played the game for probably 15 or 20 minutes.

We had about 25 people at our house. I'm glad the weather cooperated so we were able to spend most of the time outdoors.

I’ll just include a few pictures of his birthday as I ~hope~ to get those scrapbook pages done on my next days off. Then I’ll share the scrapbook pages.

260996571109_0_ALB 592196571109_0_ALB932417571109_0_ALB 490417571109_0_ALB 991617571109_0_ALB134037571109_0_ALB  348027571109_0_ALB 716727571109_0_ALB  814037571109_0_ALB 837327571109_0_ALB 943917571109_0_ALB 989896571109_0_ALB 735637571109_0_ALB
We got his 1 year pictures done at Penneys. They usually do a decent job and their prices can’t be beat. We had his 4month pictures done there and they did a really bad job and our family picture was a lot of Trav and I and just a tiny bit of him (shoulders up) at the bottom of the picture. We decided to give them one more shot and the next time was much better. :o)

Of course he also had his 1 year checkup awhile back and we’re a bit concerned about his weight gain. Or rather, lack of it. My little peanut’s stats were: weight 19 lb 7 oz (5-10%) Height 30” (50%) Head 47 (95%) I’m guessing that’s CM because the last chart was marked 18 ½ inches and I really doubt his head more than doubled in size! The lack of weight gain is troubling. He lost 7 oz between 6 and 9 months, then gained 7 oz between 9 and 12 months. I know he is small but I think they really got his weight wrong at the 9month because he does seem a lot bigger and heavier than he did at 6 months.

It was pretty annoying because the doctor after running tests was a little harsh in saying that we weren’t giving him enough to eat. After they ran tests to make sure he was otherwise healthy. He was eating A LOT. He’s always been a little piglet! Shortly before the doctor appointment I even asked Trav if we were feeding him too much. He would eat a lot in a sitting, I was nursing frequently, and he was snacking. I compared to what the portion recommendations were and it did seem like normal if not more than normal. I told the doctor what he ate on an average day and that I didn’t see how I could get more into him and asked what foods would be the most high calorie and best choices to feed him and she just said, high calorie foods. And that I needed to stop nursing and give only whole milk. I gave up and left pretty upset and pissed off. I was actually worried I’d be getting a knock on my door from DHS!

I was very mad because since Trevor first started eating I made his own baby food from fresh fruits, veggies, and wholesome foods. I’ve spent countless hours on the net surfing to find the best things to feed him. I’ve read books, articles and joined mailing lists. Grrrrr! And she made me feel like a bad mom. Till then I felt like a super-mom. And that I was doing more on that front than many do. Sooooo I’m not going back to that Doctor anymore. Trevor didn’t like her anyway. And I could tell she was anti-breastfeeding because every time we came into an appointment she would ask, how much formula is he taking? And everytime I told her none, and that I nurse. You’d think she’d get the point. I should have switched doctors in the very beginning.

Trevor is just a very very active little guy. He started scooting along around the middle of January (5 months) and hasn’t stopped moving since except when he’s asleep. Little guy won’t sit still, ever! He started crawling around Easter. He started walking about 5 or 6 steps middle of July. And about 2 weeks before his 1st birthday he was walking from one end of the room to the other without falling. Now he can walk from one end of our block to the other! Pretty darn good for 13 months!

After I told the doctor how he would eat pretty much anything and as much as we would give him. That same week he became a picky eater! Now he won’t eat veggies for the most part and what he likes one day will turn his nose up the next. So now it’s really a battle getting his tummy full. Lucky he likes pediasure and whole milk!

Unfortunately, we aren’t nursing anymore. :o( Not that I had planned to follow Dr’s orders on that one. I knew nursing was the BEST thing for him bar none! And that even adding whole milk into his diet didn’t mean I had to stop nursing. About a month and a half ago he was nursing in the early am and sometimes in the evening if he wanted to. Then a month ago he was down to just the early morning nursing (4 or 5 am ish) then co sleeping until I wanted to get up. A few weeks ago he apparently just decided all of a sudden that he would sleep through the night in his own bed and that he didn’t need to nurse anymore. It makes me a little sad, but also my OB told me that I should stop nursing too. Especially since I’ve been feeling as lousy as I have been and having a lot of morning sickness. She thought as many calories as possible should be going towards “feeding” my other baby. :o) Funny that 2 days after that appointment was when he stopped. He was there at that appointment; it makes me wonder if they understand more than we think. Though, it’s surely only just a coincidence.

So for a pregnancy update… Our due date is March 24th. Hopefully an early birthday present for me as my birthday is on April 1st. :o) Not that I’ll wish for even a day overdue by that point but it would be pretty cool to have this babe on my birthday. It would make for some pretty funny phone calls to family and for future April Fools Day pranks!

I’m feeling pretty lousy and have been for about 2 months now. This morning sickness is kicking my butt! And I’m crazy tired. It takes all the energy I have just to take care of Trevor and go to work. Housework… forget about it!!! Lucky for me I have a hubby that is good about helping out. So now that I’m in my second trimester I want the relief that it due to me! :o) I only had a week of respite when pregnant with Trevor between my morning sickness and when the back pain started. And it was five months on morning sickness and the rest of pregnancy in physical therapy. I just pray that it lets up soon.

I’m still having neckpain on a daily basis and it is rather perplexing because I never did anything to my neck. But it seems to affect everything that I do, though it is not as bad as it was shortly before I had my MRI. It definitely affects my sleep. Between the neck pain, numerous potty trips through the night, and middle of the night morning sickness I can honestly say I have not had a decent nights sleep for 2 months. And before that there was the months of Trevor’s middle of the night wakings, and before that of course I was pregnant and had the same problems I have now. LOL, I haven’t had an uninterrupted night of sleep since ohhhh December of 2004. That’s kind of a sad thought. No wonder I’m so sleepy all the time!!

And with that I’m going to sign off and go to bed. It’s well past my bedtime and all this talk about sleep has made me sleepy!

A nameless face in the crowd

I wanted to keep a blog to keep my friends and family in touch with what is going on in my son's life. A friend talked me into creating a myspace. Now don't get me wrong, I love myspace and will continue to keep a space. However, it wasn't all that private. And friends of friends were friends with people I'm not so keen on knowing my business.

So then myspace allows for us adults some privacy to make private profiles. A big win, and I was going to make myspace private. Then I thought of friends and family who visited myspace and weren't in the network. So I decided to create a blog here, link to it on myspace when I post, and put myspace private. Everybody wins. :o)

I don't know why this took me so long to figure out. Duh! But anyway... so this is my new blog. :o) For now anyway, I'll see if I like blogger. If not I'll wander off in search of greener pastures. So all of the posts prior to this one are copied from various other places I've lived on the Internet.

A lot has been going on in our lives. Trevor turns 1 this month. Gosh, it's crazy how quickly my baby is growing up! He's on the move big time now. Look out world... he's walking now! He eats like a pig as always. He would eat non stop if he could. He's also turning into quite the chatterbox. He babbles most of the day away. It's so funny, I wish I could understand what he is saying. He sits and "reads" to himself. He loves to play with his board books these days.

He hollers at us to get our attention. The other day he hollered out to Travis "Daaaaa - DE" in a very demanding tone. His most used word is still Mama... and he says it about a hundred times a day! I just keep listening to his babbles, trying to see if there are words he's sneaking in there. I think he said bath last week, well actually it was more like, "ba" but he used it in context so I think that's what he was saying. I told him we were going to go up and get him in the bath. He got all excited, and I put him down to gather up a diaper and some other stuff. He took off and moved toward the steps. I followed him up the steps and he was all excited, and said "ba" a couple of times. He crawled into the bathroom, pulled up on the tub with a big smile. We haven't had a repeat performance, so maybe it was a fluke, but I don't think so.

I've been busy working on Trevor's baby book, actually it's a digital scrapbook I'm making with photoshop. I'm learning as I go and having fun (though sometimes I get throw-stuff-at-the-computer-pissed-off) I'm getting faster. The first page took something like 10 hours to complete. The last one took maybe an hour. I wanted to have it done before his birthday party for everyone to look at but that's not gonna happen. My new goal is to have 8 pages done.

Let's see, it's been awhile since I wrote anything so of course a lot has been going on. Many times I've been compelled to write, but too lazy to do anything about it. It's a good thing I take a lot of pictures. And that the digital camera embeds the date and time into the picture. Lately it seems I only upload the pics off my camera once a month or so. That will make it easy to go back and fill in the blanks of the baby book with all of his firsts; because usually I'm quick to snap a picture or 50.

Maybe I'll try and upload some pictures one of these days so you all can see how much he's grown. Of course he's as photogenic as always. The little turkey loves the camera, so much so that even when I'm trying to snap a picture of him concentrating on a new toy or something, as soon as he hears the shutter opening he turns to give me a big cheesy grin. Though now it's more like, big cheesy grin, then try to grab the camera, and through a big huge tantrum when I won't let him have it. ~Sigh~ hopefully he goes back to just cheesy grin boy soon so I can snap his picture in peace and not give myself a headache.

Anyway... it's late and I'm tired

Vampire Teeth

Of Trevor's top teeth to come in the first was his "fangs"

It's been awhile

Current mood: grateful

Damn! Im getting just about as bad as this blogging thing as I am about keeping up with Trevor's baby book. I keep telling myself to do it once a week but then I skip a week and then really start procrastinating because then I know its going to take twice as long because I'll have twice as much to write. Hmmmmm procrastination seems to be the story of my life. I do the same damn thing with balancing my checkbook, doing laundry, doing dishes, etc. All mundane chores that I completely hate doing. Not that I hate blogging, It just takes time. And time seems to be a really valuable commodity in my life lately.

Wow So its been nearly a month!!! Where o where do I begin?!?! So Ladies and Gents Grab your Pepsi (or whatever you drink) and maybe a light snack while your at it, because this is going to be a long one I'm sure. :o) I have to look back through pictures because I cant even remember what all has been going on in the last month.

The weekend of the 20th we went to Trav's cousins wedding. It was outdoors at botanical gardens in Dubuque. I took some really nice pictures of Trevor in the beautiful surroundings but alas due to a stupid virus and having to reformat my computer they are gone. Lesson learned, back up photos regularly! Trevor had fun playing with an older boy and was much more social than he was with the girl the week before. He did wonderful even though it was a really long day. Everyone commented what a good boy he was. He really enjoyed making new friends.

Memorial day weekend was a good time. I had a four day weekend. :o) We went camping like we do every year with my best friend Tiana and her kids, Trav's friend Matt and his kids, and Jeremy. There was more of us this year than in years past and having the kids around was fun. As usual, I took a ton of pictures. Since the start of that weekend Ive taken nearly 300 pictures! The weather was nice, windy but that kept it from getting too hot. Ill post just a few of my favorite pictures from camping. If you want to see the rest, you'll have to check them out on my Kodak album. Trevor seemed to like eating outdoors because he could make a huge mess and we let him. I think his favorite snack was a crumbled up sugar cookie. He had cookie crumbs from head to toe. The whole time he kept saying mmmmmmm.

Probably the most memorable of the weekend was Tiana and I making Mexican smores. :o) We made the mistake of making them after dark with a lantern. Apparently June bugs love peanut butter and melted chocolate too. I'm sure we annoyed every camper within a 3 mile radius with our screams when a June bug decide to track through the peanut butter. AAACCCKKKK! Good lord I hate June bugs! They were tasty though, I'm sure I would have gagged hard core if I bit into anything crunchy though. In case you're wondering, here's how you make Mexican smores. Spread peanut butter on a tortilla, sprinkle with chocolate chips and marshmallows. Here's a tip though, keep your chocolate chips in a cooler, they get messy when melted. Oh and miniature marshmallows would have been nice too. You roll it up like a burrito, wrap in foil and through on a grate over the fire. And after about 7 minutes you have melted yummy goodness. Next year the plan is to prepare them before dark so we can skip the whole June Bug thing. It was good for a laugh but that's something that's perfectly fine to experience once in a lifetime!

Monday afternoon we went to the memorial of Trav's cousin Brian who was killed in Iraq. The memorial is very moving and the service was as well. It was a wonderful tribute to a great hero. We had a picnic in the park and the park in Tripoli has a very nice play area for kids. The nicest one Ive ever seen. I took the time to take some portraits of Trevor, though he was too busy to sit still.

The next weekend was a four day weekend for me again. We headed to Washington, it was a busy weekend. We went to the Ridiculous Day parade. It was funny watching all the kids scramble for the candy you're right Tiana you do gotta watch out for those greedy little kids (Ill be more general than you ~wink~) Some of those boogers that were scrambling around us would have killed for candy. What I think was funnier though, was the grannies and gramps, bellied up to the curb in they're lawn chairs taking up like half a block. Would it really have been that hard for them to scoot their chair about a foot back so kiddos could sit on the curb in front of them, I mean come on! The kids were on top of each other and knocking each other out over a few pieces of candy.

It made my (and Trevor's) day though when they started throwing those Ice pop things. That really hit the spot, because man was it hot! I got a bit of a burn on my shoulders and but since I slathered Trevor with sunscreen he didn't even get pink.

After the parade we went to my brothers girlfriends graduation party. She had a dessert buffet. Yummmm! Thanks Megan! It was way good and I probably put on about 12 pounds. After the party we went to the lake. It was Trevor's first time swimming and he really enjoyed it. He was kicking and splashing like crazy. Trevor also enjoyed climbing all over Megan's dog Paris. She was just the right size for Trevor, though he tried to squash her a couple of times.

We went to dinner at pizza hut. I think all the kids were better behaved than we were. I always get a little obnoxious when Tiana and I are together. We spent the night at her house and were going to play some drinking games but ended up just going to sleep instead. We were all pretty beat.

Sunday, we went to my grandmas in the morning. She made me her famous cinnamon rolls. I told her once that they were my favorite thing she makes and now she makes them every time I come to visit. They are sooooo good!

On the way out of town I was going to meet a friend, when that fell though we managed to arrange a visit with my brothers. Michael joined us. Its been way too long since we all got together. It was nice catching up. Too bad my sister was able to make it. It seems like always someone is missing from our get togethers. Hopefully sometime soon we can all be together. I don't remember the last time that we were.

Last week I didn't work a whole lot. I felt like taking some time off to get stuff done around the house. It was a pit after the crazy few months we've had. This is our slow season at work so now was a good time as any to take some time off. It was nice working half days! This weekend was pretty much just lounging around the house. I slept the day away yesterday. And today I got a call one of the girls didn't realize that she had to work and she lives out of town so it was going to take her awhile to get there. So I got to go into work today on my day off to work for about 45 minutes before she could get there. Grrrrrr. Sucks but it happens, one of the perks of being a manager I suppose.

I guess that gets me pretty much caught up. Lets see so what else is Trevor doing now???? Hes lightning fast at crawling. I can't turn my back on him for a second when the gates in his playroom are not shut. Hell either make a beeline for the stairs or the vacuum. When he wants me he chants mamamamama almost always with a whiny tone and tears in his eyes. When I come home from work he always comes to greet me. Its so sweet, it shows me how much he misses me when I'm gone.

He is also walking with assistance. Either cruising along furniture or holding onto your hands. He also has this fire truck that he walks behind. Its still hard for him to do, but hes getting better.

As always he has quite the appetite. He now wants to eat and drink whatever it is that we have. Still has just the 2 teeth and at his Dr appointment she said the other 2 are a ways off yet. Oh, and speaking of Dr appointment, He had his 9 month check up on 6-2. Hes 19 pounds. He lost some weight since his last visit! I think he lost weight because hes so darn mobile. He wont sit still for a second it seems. The only time we can get him to sit still is when hes really tired and were cuddling. Even then it can be a struggle to get him to settle down. The doctor isn't too concerned because hes healthy otherwise so well see how he does at his next appointment. Good God I'm already talking about his 1 year checkup!!! Its so hard to believe how fast time flies.

Finally were starting to plan his first birthday. Were doing the Winnie the Pooh theme. I gotta get started on making the invitations. :o)

Adios y Buenos noche mi amigos!

Walnuts and rocks and dirt, Oh my!

Current mood: content

Last week was pretty uneventful but there are some milestones worth mentioning and of course some pictures to share!
Last Sunday (the week before... not yesterday) Was a beautiful day and we went to a confirmation party for one of Travs cousins. It was nice to run into a couple of girls I used to work with. (they are family of an Ex wife of one of Travs uncles, I think?) The one did my hair for the wedding. And it was surprising to see that she had a baby of her own pretty close to the same age as Trevor.
It was fun watching them interact and it makes me realize we really need to get Trevor involved with kids his own age. He was not as interested in her as she was him. It was so cute! We plopped them both down on the top of the table and she kept grabbing him and kissing on him. Not sure if she was actually trying to kiss him or not but thats sure what it looked like. He wasnt completely indifferent to her... but one could definitely tell she was intruding on his comfort bubble. Id share a picture... but I don't have permission from her momma. So if you want to see you'll just have to click the link to my Kodak shared pictures (private to only those on my friends list) and view my photo album where I have all of my pictures. :o) Ill probably get them uploaded and shared in a few days.
Trevor also enjoyed hanging out with his Grandpa and Great Grandpa. He didn't want to sit still... he just crawled all over the place climbing up on people and begging for real food. Sunday he also had his first experiences sitting in the grass. At first he just sat there and touched the grass blades, smiling and looking around. Later when we got home we put him down in the grass again. Well our yard is more weeds than grass... but whatever. He really enjoyed exploring and tried to put everything into his mouth including walnuts, dirt, rocks, and grass. Hell probably be saying acky sometime soon. He and Kodi hung out for awhile. Kodi keeps trying to nose him to pet him and rolls over for Trevor to rub his belly. Trevor just likes to pull his hair and poke out his eyes!

Everyday Trevor gets better at climbing. We cant keep him from heading up the stairs anytime the gate is left open. He likes to go to the top and look through the rail. He also likes to play ball now. He can even roll it back. Though he doesn't have much control yet over which direction it goes. Pulling up on things is no longer difficult in the least bit. He climbs up on the gates and will shake them when he gets a little ticked off.

He just learned yesterday how to drink from a sippy cup. Hes been able to drink out of a cup without a lid for a couple of weeks, but hes pretty messy. So I'm happy that now he will drink that way. Its a lot less messy and he likes to do things himself so he was constantly grabbing the glass and making a mess. Hes getting pretty close to being able to eat chopped up table food. As it is we feed him crumbs off of our plates but he still mainly eats the baby food that I make up for him for his actual meals.

My first mothers day was uneventful but very relaxing. It was a gloomy day and we stayed home. I didn't change out of my Pajamas all day. Which is a pretty common thing for me on a Sunday. Trav bbq'd and had a grease fire on the grill. Lucky most all of the food was off the grill. These pictures were taken on Sunday.

Hmmmm let's see what else...
He's been a lot more vocal this last week. He says mamamama all the time. Sometimes it's just mum, and sometime it's mom. He learned "huh?" from his baby Einstein video. We say "huh?" back and forth a lot now and he thinks it's pretty funny. He also likes to make the "p" sound by by popping his lips. He also says "bob" a lot. We have no idea why on that one but sometimes it sounds like "ba"

We just got a DVD burner so I'm sure over the next few days Ill be backing up all of our files onto DVDs and messing around with it. Anyways... our pizza is ready and I'm hungry
