Bye bye binkie

Two days ago was Trevor's last day with a binkie. There was a bit of mild protest but now he doesn't even miss it. Binkies are now for Jayden. If he finds one laying around he brings it to her and sticks it in her mouth, even if she tries to spit it out. He will try over and over until Jayden finally gives in and takes the binkie.

Yummy Thumb-y

Jayden has started sucking her thumb. She does it with much vigor. You can hear her smack smack smack from another room!

Too cute for words

Why didn't I think of this before?

Due to Trevor's issues with the stylist Travis decided to break out the dog clippers from when we shaved Kodi a long while back. Don't worry we didn't use clippers that had actually been used on the dog (ack!) But being that I ran through several sets of clippers and had to return them 2 times and never did get around to finishing the job with Kodi the clippers were brand new.

Trevor didn't fight much. And even seemed to laugh a little. The buzz cut turned out kinda cute. And oh so nice to save the drama (and the money) at the salon! It's not quite straight but close enough for me.

Tornado Drill

Trevor hates thunder and lightening. He runs to the window to see what's going on but he cries and shakes like a leaf. Then he runs away but the next boom he runs back and kinda squats below the window sill to peak up out the window crying and shaking the whole time.

Well today we had a tornado warning so we decided to pack up and move down to the basement. Trevor had a lot of fun and seemed to enjoy the change of scenery. Jayden seemed to think it was funny to lie in a clothes basket. It sure made a nice impromptu bassinet. Lucky for us there wasn't actually a tornado in our area so we didn't suffer any damages.

Rasberries

Today Jayden started blowing "rasberries" Here's a little video of her doing it. Though she seemed to be doing it constantly throughout the day, as soon as I pull out the camera she stops. It took about 10 tries to even get this.

Trevor also started blowing rasberries on Jayden's tummy. Though his version is standing over her and spitting on her. He thought that was pretty funny.

Silly pictures

"Why, Yes, Trevor DOES have a monkey on his back."

"Trevor models the fashions of our next door neighbors." ~singing~ Mamas don't let your babies grow to be gansters.

"Back massage anyone?" ~disclaimer~ Not responsible for any injury resulting to your back when he slips and lands on your back with his butt really hard. (on purpose!)

Time to chop off my hair

I'll be getting a haircut for sure very soon. I don't like me with short hair but I can't stand having my hair pulled. And this picture is evidence that she tugs really hard. Look at the white in her normally pink fingernails.

Sticky

Trevor plays with the gooey mess that is freshly made rice krispie treats.

Trevorspeak

He parrots most anything these days. But these are his most common words/phrases.

"Ho Cow!" - Holy cow! I guess I say this more than I thought.
"Frow, frow" - chanted over and over when spinning in circles or walking round and round something, usually Mom, dad or Jayden. About a million times a day. . We think he's saying round round
"Nine Nine" - Night night (it's no longer daaa daaa!)
"Bye???" - Are we going somewhere
"Ma ma ma ma" - Mom, more, or up
"Awwww sit" - Awww s$#t"
"Dow dow doown dow dow doown" I want DOWN! Always 2 Dows and a Dooown
"Dow" - I want up, only time he says just one Dow
"See Sew" Love you, said in a sing song voice
"Gin" - Again
"Pay" - Play
"Foo, foo foo" - I'm hungry! I want food!
"Mo, mo, mo" - more sometimes sounds like ma. Usually said in a very pitiful tone for effectiveness
"Tra-tour" - at first we thought this was tractor, but he doesn't say it in context, we thing he's saying Trevor.

Video one is Trevor saying "frow frow" Video 2 is him saying "dow dow down"

Back to front

Jayden rolled from back to front for the first time last night. Now she prefers to sleep on her tummy. I would prefer she sleep on her back as it's the safest. But what's a mama to do? I tried repositioning her but everytime she'd roll right back. So I give up!

Insomniac Baby

Yesterday and last night Jayden would not sleep for more than half an hour at a stretch. I was at my wits end and wondering if she was getting sick or something. Most of the day she was happy and alert. Just when I thought she was conked out and was going to sleep for awhile; she'd wake up. Grrrrr. But after 10 pm... Oh-my-gosh!!! What a crank! She wouldn't stop fussing combined with screaming. This went on for ohhhh about FOUR HOURS. I was ready to cry. Finally got her to stay asleep around 1am and she slept until 7am.

Now today she is Narcoleptic baby. She was awake for a two and a half hour stretch and then she's been asleep most of the day. She even fell asleep in her kick and play, which she never does.

Poly-Yuck-sol

Neither Jayden or Trevor can stand the taste of their vitamins. Jayden made this horrible face when I gave it to her today for the first time. I thought she swallowed it and came back a few minutes later to find she had spit it all over herself.

What a mess!!! I have no idea how I'm going to get the stain out of her clothes. So far everything I've tried hasn't touched it. Any input as to how to get her to take it in the future. I'm thinking about putting it in her bottle but she probably won't take the milk if it tastes like this stuff. I tasted and aack! I don't blame them for not liking it. Why don't they make it more tasty for the kiddos???

Chunky Monkey...

... and Skinney Mini

Can you believe they are in the same size diapers!?!?! Both wear size 3. Though they are a tad too big for her and just right for him. Oh my goodness, she's going to outweigh him by the time she's 9 months old!!!

I Can do it Myself

For the last few weeks Trevor has been taking off his clothes and trying to put them back on by himself. He can't quite get it right but gets mad if we try to help him out.

Baby-Pattern-Baldness

Hehehehe Jayden has rubbed a bald spot on the back of her head. I noticed it a few days ago. I remember when Trevor did that around christmas time and I took a patch of hair off the top of his head with a christmas bow. :o)

Like a moth to the flame...

Jayden can not resist watching TV. She will strain her neck to watch it. I put her on the floor facing away from the TV and she arched her back and turned her head so she could see it. While I'm nursing her or holding her while on the computer if our "middle" computer (AV computer is on the TV tuner she will turn into contortionist (sp?) baby to watch it.

Little Thief

Trevor always tries to steal my nursing pillow and blanket that I always use when I nurse Jayden while on the computer. He pulls the blanket through the gate and sometimes manages to get the pillow too. He gets mad when I take it back.

I love/hate The Fourth of July

I enjoy the festivities of the forth, the annual BBQ at Trav's mom's house, the patriotism, and of course the fireworks. I'm not one to light them off myself but I do like watching.

That said... I HATE FIREWORKS AT 12:30 AM!!! As I type this the lovely firework presentation of black cats and bottle rockets has FINALLY stopped after about an hour of bangs and booms as I'm thinking about going to bed. Honestly I don't mind neighbors shooting fireworks even though they are illegal here. But PUH-LEASE try and do it before 10pm or so. I really don't want my kiddo woken up.

This isn't our first issue with these neighbors. They are pretty much a daily annoyance. But certain things make my blood boil and this is one of them. I have to work tomorrow! I fumed for about a half hour and Travis and I discussed what course of action to take. He was considering going over there to yell at them. I told him not to because I was afraid they'd want to fight, stab or shoot him. They seem like they have the potential to be ~those~ kind of people. Yeah great to have that living next door.

So I called the cops, he asked what their address is and I wasn't exactly sure of the house number but had the cross streets and he got a fowl attitude with me and said, "Look ma'am, we have A LOT going on tonight!" Well no shit Sherlock!!! Not like I didn't realize that or wanted them there immediately. I was not the least bit short or rude and was about to joke with him a bit that I was sure this wasn't the first call of it's kind for the night. Asshole... I was reporting a public disturbance and the law was being broken. What is the point of them being outlawed then? After he said that he pretty much cut me off while I was giving the cross streets. Somehow I get the feeling my call isn't going to be followed up on.

Anyway... Happy Fourth of July!!! Even though it is now the 5th! I hope you all had a great Holiday!

Fireflies, Cheerios, and Crocs...

... in Trevorland are much more interesting than fireworks. We chose a fairly distant (remote) location as to make a quick escape if needed. Travis says "I told you so." But I thought he might be interested. After all, he did enjoy the fireworks at Grandma B's party on Saturday. But those were up close and personal however on a smaller scale of course.
We started with him throwing a fit because he apparently wanted to go run through the weeds in the ditch. Then he noticed the fireflies and was pointing at them. Fireflies soon lost interest and he got cranky again. So I gave him a snack bowl of Cheerios and munching on those kept him interested for longer than I expected. When he was done snacking on them he started playing with my shoes. Then he realized it would be fun to put the Cheerios IN my shoes! And then he started trying to balance my shoes on his head. One of his new favorite skills is balancing things on his head. Interlaced in these preoccupied periods were brief moments of minor freak outs when we had to hold him by the shirt to keep him from running off into weeds taller than he. Based on how my allergies are bugging me, I'm guessing it was ragweed.
From time to time he would cast a semi interested glance in the direction of the fireworks and that was about it. At least Jayden slept most of the time. If she would have started fussing I think we would have had to pack it up. Next year we need to consider sitting at least a little bit closer.
These pictures were taken last week at Grandma B's house. We had alot of fun but man is it a lot of work chasing after a busy toddler and taking care of an infant.
