My computer has been messed up and I haven't been able to log into blogger for some reason. So this is something I typed up a little while ago so I'm back dating it.
So it’s probably well past time for a pregnancy update. :o) They started me on weekly checkups a week early (2 weeks ago) because I’ve been having a lot of Braxton Hicks contractions. At the appointment two weeks ago I was just a tiny bit dilated. Heart rate normal and my proteins were good. That has been a concern because they had been monitoring me for pre eclampsia. Back in January I had elevated protein levels and had to do a 24 hour UA… fun times I tell ya! Over a 2 week period around the beginning of January it was high and I was starting to get worried. They were threatening potential bed rest until I hit 36 weeks. That would have sucked pretty badly! But then all was good and I was in the clear. Anyway… I digress. At my appointment 2 weeks ago the main concern was my lack of weight gain (only 8 pounds total) Braxton hicks, and the lovely morning sickness that had returned. My midwife told me to keep an eye on the contractions and if I got more than 6 in an hour I was to call them and either come into the office or go to labor and delivery to be monitored. She said if I started getting them more regularly or I had any more progress in dilation they would likely put me on bed rest until 36 weeks. 2 weeks bed rest would suck but not near as bad as 2 months!
Tuesday I had my 35 week check up and it was pretty much the same as the week prior. No further dilated to speak of. I did gain 1 pound over the prior week, but she again mentioned that I needed more gain. She was a little concerned about the size of the baby and that I was measuring on the small size. Seems crazy to me because I feel like my belly is WAY bigger now then it was when I delivered Trevor. We talked again about the nausea and how I had no appetite and was having a hard time even forcing myself to eat. Braxton Hicks still pretty much the same.
So I’ve been forcing myself to try to eat constantly throughout the day. I’m trying to drink more milk, eat more cheese, and snack on peanuts. So that brings me to current events. Yesterday I really felt like my body was trying to do something. I was light headed and had a bad headache when I went into work at 3pm. I was pretty much feeling yucky. Towards the evening time I was REALLY uncomfortable. I was having a lot more Braxton hicks and she was moving a lot. Twisting and turning and making me hurt pretty badly. It got to the point I couldn’t tell between the Braxton hicks and some of her movements. Also, I couldn’t sit up straight, as it felt like my belly was hitting my lap when I did. I think she dropped quite a lot during the 6 hours I was at work. I came home and took a bath, took some Tylenol and rested and felt a little better; except I was having pretty bad back pain. Back pain is pretty much a usual thing for me and has been for about 15 years so I didn’t think much of it. It kept me tossing and turning most of the night and I noticed that sometimes the pain seemed to be coming in waves although the pain never went away.
So I called my midwife this morning and they wanted me to come in at 1:00 to get things checked out. When I got there they did a non-stress test and she was super active the full 25 minutes I was hooked up to the monitors. I thought I felt 2 or 3 contractions during that time. The midwife confirmed that I did in fact have at least 2 contractions. She checked me and I was no further along than I had been on Tuesday. So it wasn’t a huge concern but since I was not 36 weeks yet I was sent home on bed rest. Ha ha for 1 day! So if this would have all happened tomorrow I wouldn’t have been put on bed rest. Though I’m glad of the timing because I would have rather gone into the office and pay for just a copay on an office visit than to go to labor and delivery over the weekend and pay big bucks! Also we were able to take Trevor to day care and not have to worry about who was going to watch him.
The thing that drives me crazy is that I had no idea if they were contractions or just muscle spasms and they turned out to be contractions. I probably wouldn’t have even gone to the doctor today if I wasn’t feeling so crummy yesterday. I’m completely freaked out that things are going to happen quickly and I’m not going to get to the hospital in time. Grrrr especially if I don’t know for sure if I’m having contractions. They say things move faster the second time. Jeez they moved pretty darn quickly the first time! I can’t imagine it going much quicker. Well, except for the pushing part. I’m concerned now that I’m going to have back labor with this one and I’ve heard it’s REALLY bad.
So, tomorrow it’s back to work I go unless I’m feeling totally crappy, or in real labor. Bring on the snow baby!!! I’m wishing for crummy weather as it will make the day slow and thus easier on me. Plus, if it’s slow I can get caught up on some paper work which I really need to get done in order to peacefully go on maternity leave and not leave a total mess for the girls (or myself when I come back.) The weather is getting pretty yucky so I imagine there’s a pretty good chance of things being quiet. We’ve been getting freezing rain, thunder, and lightening since about 4 this afternoon. It’s supposed to turn to snow tonight and we are supposed to get 6-12 inches! My midwife said I’m not allowed to go into active labor this weekend. She’s got a couple of ladies laboring already plus she’s handling extra patient load from the other midwife who went out on maternity leave herself this week. So I guess she’s on call pretty much 24/7. I feel bad for her.
She also told me that when the other midwife comes back she is moving away. :o( But that will be after I deliver at least. Crazy thing is that the doctor that delivered Trevor moved away too. Maybe I’m scaring them away?!?!?!?!
Blah… time to get off the computer and get back to my bed rest. I had to get up. I was so tired of lying around and my back was hurting from lying down.

Little monkey
Trevor is such a climber these days. Who am I kidding, he's been a climber! Over a month ago he climbed into his pack and play by using his ride on toy as a ladder. The little turkey actually has the balance to stand and balance fairly well on my shin! I think that takes alot of skill. I don't think that I could even do that! I never was any good on the balance beam in gymn class.
He likes to test us these days. He will climb on his favorite ride on toy (fire truck) stand on the seat of it in the middle of the room not holding onto anything. Or he'll push it up to the gate and climb up onto the seat and then up on the steering wheel! It's an old plastic toy that is kind of light weight plastic and it makes me so nervous that it's going to flip over and he's going to crack his mouth on the gate. I just picture my younger brother Tim who lost a tooth before he was 2 on the corner of dad's briefcase and cringe. Trevor usually gets down right away when we tell him "get down." But then he tests us and tries it again a few times until we get really ticked off. Usually he stops when daddy yells.
He also runs, walks backwards, sideways, on his tiptoes, spins in circles. He's doing really good going up and down the stairs. He can do it pretty easily holding onto our hands. On his own he more climbs the stairs. Going down on his own is a combo butt slide/step down.
But he's getting better every day with practice. I want him to be able to do it mostly on his own by the time Jadyn is here.
A couple of weeks ago he did a somersault, though I think that was more of a fluke. He gets really close but hasn't been able to do it again. He climbs up and down on the couch and rocking chair without assistance. He just learned that in the last few days.
Today he really shocked me. I was in the kitchen cooking dinner(1 room away) and he was gated in his play room. He was being awful quiet so I peaked my head around the corner and he had turned his pack and play on it's side and drug it somehow to the other side of the room. I have NO idea how he did as I didn't hear a thud or sound of any kind. I came to the conclusion that he was rearranging his room. Actually, putting things back the way they were as we rearranged 2 days before. His pack and play used to be in front of the window and he liked to look out the window when we put him in there for naps and such. He also liked the sound his binkie (pacifier) makes when he drags the tip across the glass pane. We moved it because our house is pretty drafty and it was really cold by the window. Trevor will not keep socks on his feet for anything, so we moved it after the last few days have had wind chill of nearly 25 below and his feet felt like ice cubes. But he drug the pack and play back in front of the window.
When I put it back on the other side of the room Trevor wanted me to pick him up. I picked him up and he acted like he wanted down. I put him down and he wanted up again. He did this 3 times but when he was trying to get down he was kind of leaning towards his pack and play. I put him in it, gave him some milk and his binkie and he was asleep not even 5 minutes later! Maybe he was putting his "bed" back by the window so he could climb in and take a nap???? I took pictures of course, I'll have to add them later.

Trevor speak
I still have some back posts to do but jeez I'm so tired all the time! I still have to post Christmas stuff... lol! So come back soon and scroll down. Trevor is saying some really cute stuff these days though I thought I'd jump on and jot it all down!
Trevor chatters all day, mainly lots and lots of jibberish. It's so funny it cracks me up. Sometime when he's talking to me he gets real close to my face or puts his hand on my cheek and talks soooo seriously. I want to know so badly what he's saying. The other thing that he does all the time is talk on the "phone." Anything can be a phone for him, his hand, a block, the remote whatever. Tonight during dinner it was his spoon! He'll hold it up to his ear and chatter away. It was so funny, the other night he was "yelling" at someone on the phone. He was really chewing someone's behind good! Bad mommy... he learned that from me. Earlier in the day I was talking to my mom about my insanely crappy day at work and I have a tendancy to get pretty animated when I'm talking about stuff that irritates me. I wanted to get it on video but by the time I got to the camera he stopped.
Trevor still doesn't have too many words. I would say maybe about 10 or so. There are some people in this email group that I belong to with toddlers the same age as Trevor and some of them say 75 words. Trevor I would say is more focused on developing his motor skills. More on that later. Maybe next post.
Mainly he says mama, dada, bye bye really clearly. Some other things that he says that are a little harder to distinguish are: "see it?" when he wants something lately we hear that about a hundred times a day. "Zat?!?!?!" for what's that, used in replace of or in conjunction to "see it?" Or he'll say "Zis" as in what's this. He's just learning to climb up on the couch the last few days and when he does he says "Yeah, did it!" in a voice that shows how proud he is of himself. He also climbs in his toy box, closes the lid and pops his head out and says "there he is!" Everytime I or DH come home as soon as we walk in the door we get a jubilant long drawn out "hi!!!"
And then he has a naughty word he says from time to time. Though he doesn't say it as much as he used to a month or 2 ago. He says "sh$t" I'm hoping that since he hasn't said it as much that is due to us doing a better job not saying it. I catch myself from time to time though :o( And man did it come out clear as day too. Kinda embarassing.
